Don't forget the grocery cart
Highlands Church helps the hungry with donations to the Southside Food Pantry. A grocery cart sits just inside the lobby where anyone can drop off contributions to this food ministry between 7:00 am and 5: 00 pm
__________

Ron Keaton Memorial Campership/Retreat Fund
The funds collected are to be used in the following specific ways;

1. To send or help send Highlands young people to UCC camps and conferences, i.e. Templed Hills, Pilgrim Hills.

2. To send or help send women of Highlands to Women of Faith conferences.

3. To send or help send anyone from Highlands to a retreat being held by Highlands Church.

4. To send or help send any Highlands couple to a marriage enrichment conference.

This money may be used to augment funds of the Christian Education Ministry Team, so that some persons may have their entire registration amount funded, or some may be paid entirely by this fund.

By Flo Keaton in memory of Ron Keaton, to whom these activities were so important.
__________

Angelfood Ministries now at Highlands!!
The Highlands family would like to extend a hand up to your family during this time of ecomonic struggle. This ministry allows families to buy boxes of food for less money than what they will spend at the grocery store. Every month the menu is different. Please see the menu for June below. Although we know this isn't everything you would get at the grocery store, this is a start to help. You can buy for yourself or for someone you know or someone you don't.

There are set order dates and distribution dates. These will change monthly so please check back each month to see when you can place your order and when you can pick it up. The food items have to be paid for at the time of the order and we do accept food stamps. All orders and pick up will be done at the church on the dates, between the hours, listed below.

Current menu can be found on the Diaconate page.
__________

Please join us in doing our part to make our planet GREEN!
There is a can in the fellowship hall to collect plastic (#1 & #2), metal, and glass. In the narthex, by the coat racks, there is a box for paper, magazines, advertising flyers, cardboard, and junk mail.

We recycle other items, too. Do you have a piece of furniture, an appliance, baby items, etc. that you no longer need? Place a note on the Share and Care bulletin board in the fellowship hall.
__________

Help Wanted
Trustees are looking for volunteers to take on some of the tasks that keep our facility safe and improve the quality of services to others. A list of these responsibilities is posted on the share and care bulletin board in the fellowship hall.
__________

Auto Giving Now Available
You may now make your regular contribution to support Highlands ministries through direct deposit from your bank to the church. Many people have chosen to use electronic transfer for their paycheck, for bill paying, and for donations to important charities. You decide how much, at what interval , and when the transfer will take place. We have already had several people do this. You can begin your Auto-gift by contacting Jan Kushmaul at 206-1005 for the form you need to take to your bank.
